Historicial Development: | A brief mention of a Sabine Tram hardwood mill at Beaumont in 1918 was found in a local newspaper of the time. Its relationship to the historical Sabine Tram Lumber Company with its great plant at Deweyville is not certain. This hardwood mill was not listed in an edition in 1928 of Southern Lumberman's Directory of American Saw Mills and Planing Mills. The short-term life of this Beaumont mill may have been directly related to the quick entry and exit of the United States into World War I. |
