| Historicial Development: | According to a Nacogdoches County deed of trust record, the Turner-Nabors Lumber Company incorporated on September 20, 1902. Its main office was located in the W. Wiess Building at Beaumont. The planing mill was located in Blocks 7 and 67 along the tracks of the Kansas City, Pittsburg, & Gulf. The site included a two-story office building; an engine and boiler room with one steam engine and two boilers; a 200-foot rough lumber shed; and the planing mill shed, which housed a wood planer, another planer and sizer, a moulding machine, a cut-off saw, a trimmer, a resaw, a flooring machine, and a picket machine.
In August 1903 the company bought the Jeanes Bros mill in Nacogdoches County. It had earlier contracted the latter's sawmill cut along with that of the Burnaman mill in Angelina County. Southern Industrial and Lumber Review, June, 1904, noted that the Turner-Nabers mill, about seven miles southeast of Nacogdoches, had been closed for some time and in the hands of a receiver. A note on a photocopy of the Turner-Nabors Lumber Company mill at Beaumont in 1910 noted that the Nacogdoches County mill had been moved in 1905 to Jefferson County.
