Historicial Development: | According to the Anahuac Progress, a dry kiln of the Curry-Jackson Lumber Company in Anahuac was destroyed by fire in January 1949, the damage valued at $6,000. No record exists to indicate the mill was rebuilt. The Curry-Jackson Lumber Company also had a sawmill at Cleveland, in Liberty County, in at least 1947, according to The Gulf Coast Lumberman. |
