Historicial Development: | W. D. James operated a sawmill at Volga in 1906. Whether he bought it or leased it from J. R. Yerby is not clear from the bill of sale record filed at the county seat. Besides the sawmill, equipment included four oxen and a log wagon. James held a mechanics lien against the mill and contracted to let Yerby manage the mill until July 1, 1906. |
