Historicial Development: | H. Sides told V. L. Beasley that Jim and Bob Wells operated a gasoline-powered, portable sawmill at Tadmuth [probably Tadmore] in Houston County during the 1930s. They sold it to Rube Sessions. This may have been a contract, portable sawmill operation supplying the Sessions Lumber Company.
A Houston County record of 1937 noted that J. D. Sheridan sold ten thousand feet of pine lumber to H. B Mangum, “being the lumber I bought from Wells' Brothers sawmill in Houston County, Texas.” |
