Historicial Development: L. F. Goolsby owned and operated a sawmill plant consisting of steam machinery, carriage, saw frame, dolleys, two circular saws, two log wagons, and four mules and horses. It was located next to Flag Pond, about five and a half miles southeast of Grapeland. According to Houston County records, Goolsby sold in 1924 an one-half interest in the operation to J. E. Hollingsworth.
