Historicial Development: | D. C. Williams states in Sawmills of Northeastern Waller County that this lumber plant was the Bowles sawmill while Ms. Abshier believes the proper name was Boze.
Both agree that the sawmill was located about two miles west of Macedonia Road, near Three Mile Creek. Trees were felled with a crosscut saw, trimmed with an axe, and the hauled on ox- or mule-driven wagons to the mill. Water was hauled by barrel from Three Mile Creek and oak logs were burned in the boilers to power the mill. |
