Historicial Development: Jeremiah Randolph (1803 to 1873), born in Tennessee, located in Walker County after the Civil War. A local history noted that Taylor operated a sawmill and had a partnership in Randolph and Son, a general mercantile business. He also was a building contractor and was “good at making furniture.” His sawmill, unlike that of his nephew Taylor Randolph, is not listed in the Census of 1870.
