Historicial Development: | In 1892 G. W. Holley had a sawmill plant at Hawkins in Wood County. A county record notes the value of his equipment, including commissary goods worth $1495;planer $500; edger $225; saw carriage $250; saw frame and pulley $275; 35-horspower Erie steam engine and boiler $2000; six yoke of oxen $300; and two log wagons $150. G. W. Holly was cutting 25,000 feet daily at Hawkins in 1893.
