Historicial Development: | J.C. Nellis and A.H. Pierson reported that Beavers & Meek were sawmilling 20,000 feet daily of yellow pine lumber in 1915 at Hawkins. The mill was located several miles to the northwest. Timothy K. Perttula et al. noted that their sawmill operated from 1911 to 1938. |
