Historicial Development: | G. A. McKnight sold his sawmill, mill shed, and houses to Jeff Dowell. The plant was located two miles east of Smith in Upshur County on the N. W. Presnell survey. J. A. Knowles filed a mechanic's lien against McKnight after the latter sold the plant to Dowell. Dowell contracted his shingle cut to J. E. Efurd in May 1907. |
