Historicial Development: | R. M. Halcroft leased his mill and mill site on his land to J. M. Smith in March 1907. Smith apparently bought the mill for he sold it the next day to Patterson and Miller Lumber Company. Located about seven miles south of Gilmer, the site equipment included the sawmill, the engine, boiler, lumber logs, all mules, horses, harness, wagons, etc. |
