Historicial Development: | William Steinkampf had been operating a planing mill and remanufacturing plant, with a dry kiln attached, at Groveton, when D. C. Barton bought it in 1946, according to The Gulf Coast Lumberman. The article reported that Barton “owned and operated several small mills in the Groveton area.” Nelson Samson included the D. C. Barton Lumber Company in the 1957 edition of his work. |
