Historicial Development: | W. R. Wright registered in the San Jacinto Chattel Mortgage Register, on August 4, 1917, a mortgage with San Jacinto State Bank at Shepherd with some planing machinery as collateral. He, on February 6, 1918, three acres of land at Evergreen, which contained a gin mill and a sawmill. Equipment for the sawmill included steam engines and boilers, saws, shaftings, pulleys, two planers, one a 26-inch surfacer and one 3-inch by 9-inch matcher. The mortgage was registered to the First National Bank of Cleveland for $325.85.
On July 10, 1922, Wright mortgaged to the First National Bank of Cleveland his sawmill, planing mill, grist mill, and cotton gin, boiler, sheds, belting, shafting, pulleys, and the three acres of land on which the mill sat at Evergreen. He remortgaged the mill on March 10, 1923, to the First National Bank of Cleveland. |
