Historicial Development: | Thomas H. Snow originally operated a cotton gin at Oakhurst, beginning about 1891. He later added a sawmill, probably in 1897. Snow took E. B. Harrell as a partner, and they mortgaged to Geo M. Dilley and the San Jacinto State Bank, in 1902, for a planer-matcher. Snow was also running a cotton gin. Snow & Harrell were listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1905 as manufacturers of yellow pine lumber at Oakhurst. |
