Historicial Development: | Allen Stud Mill, located at Pollok, thirteen miles northwest of Lufkin on the Cotton Belt, was a division of Carroll Allen, a former vice president and director of Temple Industries. On thirty acres, in 1964, were constructed a sawmill, office building, ship, a storeroom, a planer mill, and lumber and storage yard. He employed approximately twenty personnel. By September, 1965, the mill was shipping yellow pine studs as far as Ohio. |
