Historicial Development: | J. E. Street ran a small sawmill operation at Willow Springs, southeast of Oakhurst and west of Stephens Creek community, about half way to the Walker County line. In 1949, he mortgaged some logging equipment located at his “sawmill at Willow Springs, Texas.” The operation was listed in Samson's Directory of Wood-Using and Related Industries in East Texas 1966. |
