Historicial Development: Algood's mill is first noticed in the Sabine City Chattel Mortgage Records when he mortgaged for a 20-foot saw carriage. On March 26, 1908, J. B. Algood mortgaged to the First National Bank of Timpson his “entire cut of my sawmill at present mill site.” On April 17, 1908, he mortgaged about 200,000 feet of pine lumber and ties.
