Historicial Development: A sawmill firm of Kimbro, Elliott, and Hart operated on the county line of Panola and Shelby counties. On April 6, 1906, Kimbro, Elliott, & Hart mortgaged to Dilley & Son a boiler, a steam engine, a sawmill, three headblocks, a Curtis dog, two Dixie dogs, an edger, a Curtis #2 sawmill rig complete, two circular saws (8-gauge 50-teeth each), and ten car wheels. In 1909, a firm called Ragley, Hart, & Elliott appeared in the Panola County records. A Mr. Nix bought Hart's share on August 5, 1907, for $1,500 payable in twelve months at ten percent yearly interest. The document was filed on April 14, 1909. Sawmill machinery included an 11-inch by 12-inch Ames steam engine and a 4l8-inch by 14-ft Ames boiler, plus belts, pulleys, shafts, etc.
