Historicial Development: | In an oral interview with Vernon L. Beasley, Mrs. Dixie Sparks recalled that Pickering Lumber Company had a logging front based at Milam during the 1920s. It would have been linked with the Pickering mill at Haslam, close to the Sabine River in Shelby County, by the Pickering logging tram road. |
