Historicial Development: | W. Hall told Vernon Beasley about the “Johnny Webb” circular sawmill located at Geneva during the 1940s. The J. S. Webb Lumber Company at Geneva was listed in the 1957 edition of Nelson T. Samson's Directory of Wood-Using and Related Industries in East Texas and in the Directory of Texas Manufacturers 1956-1958. The latter noted that the portable sawmill plant had been established in 1944. It manufactured pine and hardwood lumber with less than twenty-five employees. |
