Historicial Development: | In 1896, Beall, Lewis proposed to build a tram road half a mile below Pendleton in Sabine County, to the Sabine River. The company wanted to construct a tram road one and a half miles long into the forest, which had never been harvested before. They had made contracts with Orange Lumber Company to supply logs down the river to the mill. |
