Historicial Development: In April 1907, T. J. Dickerson of Rebecca mortgaged for $201 300 6-inch by 8-inch by 8-foot heart railroad ties and 700 7-inch by 9-inch by 8-foot sap railroad ties, located at Rebecca Switch. In June 1907, T. J. Dickerson of Rebecca mortgaged to Dilley for $325 an Ames 44-inch by 10-foot boiler. Thomas was taxed in 1907 and 1908 for tools, product, and machinery but no commissary wares. His sawmill was located about four and a half miles from San Augustine. On 11 July 1908, J. T. Dickerson of Rebecca, mortgaged to T. P.d Wragg for $233 an Atlas 10-inch by 12-inch steam engine and 25,000 feet of 1-foot by 12-inch by 18- or 20-foot lumber, to be loaded at Rebecca Switch. In 1909 W. D. Sheffield mortgaged 100,000 feet of lumber, located at the T. J. Dickerson sawmill at Rebecca, to W. T. Parker for $600. The document does not make clear if Sheffield also owns, operates, or leases the Dickerson sawmill. M. P. Henley and C. C. Shoubrock mortgaged to T. J. Dickerson for $315 an Atlas 10-inch by 12-inch steam engine, a 44-inch by 14-foot Ames boiler, a sawmill with one 3-saw edger, a cutoff saw, and five dollies.
