Historicial Development: The Cotton Lumber Company was taxed on product and boilers in 1906; it was not taxed thereafter. That same year it mortgaged for $850 with W. H. and J. W. Wall a complete sawmill, including an Ames boiler and engine, an edger, a log haul-up, a blacksmith shop, saw gummer, four lumber buggies, sheds, and dry kilns. The American Lumberman noted in 1908 that the company had been placed in the receivership of Emmett Jones.
