Historicial Development: | Lige Walker and his son George and son-in-law William Lawrence operated a sawmill and planing mill at Walker's Mill from the 1930s until 1942, when they moved it to Lansing Switch near Hallsville. They operated on the south side of Highway 80 for about five years, and then moved in 1947 to Longview, where they lasted until the mid 1950s. |
