Historicial Development: | Weldon Beasley, in an oral interview with Vernon L. Beasley, noted the Acorn Lumber Company is located at Chinquapin, about twelve miles south of San Augustine. The mill was listed in the 1987 Forest Products Industries in Texas. Ricky Lout, when interviewed by Vernon L. Beasley, noted that the mill makes ties and had been at its location since the 1960s.
