Historicial Development: | The sawmill of Robinson & Elder was listed in “Timbered Texas,” Galveston Weekly News, April 13, 1893, as cutting 8,000 feet daily. The Gregg County records note that J. T. Robinson and Mrs. Sarah Elder had a steam sawmill in Rusk County, located in the southern part of Kilgore. They sold it to F. E. Martin.
