Historicial Development: | The Lufkin Daily News reported in 1943 that the W. J. Franklin Lumber Company, located fifteen miles from Corrigan, had had a sawmill and planer there for twenty years. Franklin Lumber probably bought out one of the existing mills about 1935. It also had a retail yard at Palestine. |
