Historicial Development: | This was built in 1903 and began operations in February 1904. Southern Pine and Cypress Company also had mills at Willis, Montgomery County; New Waverly, Walker County; and Houston, Harris County. Texas Lumber Company bought Southern Pine & Cypress Company in May 1906 and moved the company office from Houston to Conroe. The company was listed as cutting 50,000-ft daily of pine lumber in 1906. |
