Historicial Development: | Panola County records reveal that W. E. Ross operated a lumber facility in Panola County before 1900. In 1898, he bought 400,000 shingles from the shingle mill of Neal & Fleming, about a half mile away from the Ross mill. In December, 1899, W. E. Ross sold lumber to the Vaughan Lumber Company from his mill, which was located seven and a half miles south of Carthage. |
