Historicial Development: Panola County records document that H. P. Danish sold a sawmill business to Cassity Lumber Company for $2,800 in January 1948. Equipment included the sawmill, feedworks, carriage, track, two-saw edger, a 52” saw, a mandrel, a twenty-five horsepower Buda engine and battery, two log wagons, and five horses and mules, plus other items. The equipment was located at the A. D. Anderson place, about four and a half miles northeast of Carthage. Cecil and Evelyn Cassity sold the sawmill firm to R. V. Cassity for $10.00 and other considerations.
