Historicial Development: | The Miller-Vidor Lumber Company had logging trams running into its camp at Vidor to a skidway on the east bank of the Neches River. Employing 175 men, the camp could send daily 600,000 feet to its mills, either floating logs down the Neches or over the Southern Pacific. Company commissary and housing were provided for the men, which numbered almost 175.
About 1920, the camp was shifted to either the Lakeview or Wiess Bluff area. |
