Historicial Development: | The Barber Lumber Company appeared in 1905 Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association as a manufacturer of yellow pine lumber. Its main plant was located five miles to the southwest at Hartburg. The Barber mill at Ruliff was not listed in the 1907 edition of the LCA. but the Southern Lumber Company was.
Barber Lumber in 1908, according to Southern Lumberman, was shut down during the summer while its entire employee force built a tram road for the 50,000-ft mill. |
