Historicial Development: | According to W.T. Block of Nederland, evidence of the Williams Lumber Company mill at Hartburg was found in the 1910 U.S. census records. The only Hartburg mill that appeared in the January 1907 published records of the Lumbermen's Credit Association and the 1915 U.S. Department of Commerce's report on sawmills was that of the Barber Lumber Company.
Hartburg was named for an Orange attorney. |
