Historicial Development: | William Alders operated sawmills and cotton gins in the region for twenty years. He was among the first to combine cotton ginning and lumber milling at the same site. The article, written in 1907, stated that Alders had retired several years earlier, so Alders probably was sawmilling during the 1880s and 1890s. |
