Historicial Development: | The planing mill for the various lumber operations in Nacogdoches County by William Fleming Daniel and Awtrey Fleming Daniel was located at Cushing along the tracks of the Texas & New Orleans. In 1923, H. J. Musick, from a Cherokee County lumber-owning family, wrote his agent requesting a proposed lease on the Daniel Lumber Company lumber yard at Cushing.
