Historicial Development: J. R. Morse had an hardwood mill located on the Bob Mills' place, located in 1925 about twelve miles north of Nacogdoches. He sold the oak-lumber mill to J. W. Baggett for $10 and other considerations. The property included an Ames 42-inch by 12-foot boiler, an Ames 9-inch by 10-inch steam engine, a No. 2 Curtiss sawmill with a 3-block carriage, a 3-saw edger, a cut-off rig, ten mules, three 8-wheel Lindsey log wagons, and 30,000 feet of one-inch oak lumber at the mill.
