Historicial Development: This mill was listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1905 and its 1907 edition. The proper spelling is “Roots.” The planing company at Hallsville was very active in finishing rough lumber provided by other manufacturers of rough lumber. In August, 1906, Roots was mortgaging some of his equipment.
