Historicial Development: | D. C. Driskell & Brother's sawmill at Noel appeared in a 1905 reference book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association. They were listed as manufacturers in yellow pine lumber. The town's name may have changed to Wood Lawn (or Woodlawn) by 1908, for that is the listing given Driskell & Bro for the Yellow Pine Manufacturers Association. There is no listing for “Woodlawn” in the 1907 Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association.
American Lumberman reported in 1906 that Driskell did not have a logging railroad.
