Historicial Development: | With the death of Felton Bunt, his sons decided to improve their business location and moved the sawmill plant from Walker's Mill to Lansing Switch near Hallsville in 1949. The Bunt Brothers Lumber Company at Hallsville is listed in Samson's 1957 Directory of Wood-Using and Related Industries in East Texas. The Directory of Texas Manufacturers 1956-1958 noted that Bunt Bros began in 1949 with Felton Bunt. In the late 1950s, the company employed less than ten workers. Barney Bunt recalled that the mill manufactured lumber and contracted construction of housing.
