Historicial Development: The mill of the Donnelly Lumber Company at Virgie appeared in the January 1907 issue of the Lumbermen's Credit Association's Reference Book. It is possible that at this time the mill was a contract mill of the Texas and Louisiana Lumber Company. On November 30, 1907, Donnelly Lumber Company (Charles Donnelly, president) sold the company sawmill and assets at Virgie to the Lake Creek Lumber Company (C. S. Sibley, secretary). The “Texas Manufacturers” section of the “Roster: Lumbermen's Ass'n of Texas,” in the Southern Industrial and Lumber Review of July 1909, included the Lake Creek Lumber Company of Houston.
