Historicial Development: | Grogan-Cochran Lumber Company operated a sawmill plant at Tamina, about ten miles south of Conroe, from around 1917 until 1927. It improved its dry capabilities when the Moore Dry Kiln Company built a dry kiln of 60,000-foot capacity in 1920 at Tamina for the company.
Having cut out its timber at Tamina, Grogan-Cochran sold much of its equipment to Herman-Hale Lumber Company in 1927 but moved its blacksmith shop, machine shop, rolling stock to Magnolia, where it already had bought the Lone Star Lumber Company plant. |
