Historicial Development: | Grogan-Cochran had had a large sawmill plant at Magnolia from 1928. Daniel Lumber Company had a sawmill facility at Cowl Spur, close to Magnolia, which had been sold to Grogan-Cochran in 1938. A document, strange in its implications, from the Montgomery County records, reveals that Daniel Lumber Company sold its sawmill at Magnolia to Grogan-Cochran Lumber Company in May, 1945, for $100,000 cash, indicating that the complex was of good size. The sale obviously meant the Cowl Spur plant. No other records reveal the existence of this mill.
