Historicial Development: | J. T. Wurtsbaugh, who later had interests in Montgomery and Tyler county sawmilling, bought 1500 acres of pine sawtimber from Annie S. Kenedy in 1913. The area was described as being about twenty miles northwest of Marshall, which probably placed the stumpage near Hughes. The contract gave Wurtsbaugh the right to erect a sawmill to manufacture lumber on the property. |
