Historicial Development: | James Talley and David Solley established a small portable sawmill in Cass County about 1880. The plant cut lumber for nearly twenty years. Talley sold out to Solley after the boiler blew up when they were cutting lumber near Ravana; the explosion nearly killed Talley. The company operated a log dump for its sawtimber from the woods. The logs were rafted down the Sulphur River. |
