Historicial Development: | W. P. Devereaux apparently was a tie miller in Cherokee County during the 1890s and 1900s. In 1891, R. C. Earle sold cross ties stacked on the IGN to W. P. Devereaux for $102. He mortgaged in 1907 to the Jacksonville State Bank for $256, pledging a wood saw, a wood splitter, and a shingle machine. |
