Historicial Development: | According to Cherokee County records, the Liles Box Factory sold its plant to Southern Pine Lumber Company for $100 in 1949. Equipment included a planer mill with a Yates planer and a Yates 54-inch resaw powered by steam boiler and engine and an UD 18 125-horsepower engine an 80-ft steam dry kiln; a Ross lift; a 60-ft by 90-ft building; a 60-ft by 10-ft' building; and a veneer mill.
