Historicial Development: The Cedar Bayou Lumber Company on Cedar Bayou near Houston, according to the Southern Industrial and Lumber Review of February 1909, built a sawmill plant nearly a year earlier, but because of the panic never operated it. Three men from Los Angeles, H. P. Merseneau, H. C. Myers, and B. W. Harless, bought the mill to cut almost ten million feet of stumpage they owned.
