Historicial Development: | The Joe L. Cravens mill plant at Wells was listed in the Southern Lumberman's 1928 directory of sawmills as cutting ash, elm, black and red gum, hackberry, red and white oak, persimmon, walnut, willow, and shortleaf pine at 15,000 board feet per day. The mill had a commissary and its own logging road. |
