Historicial Development: | Pierce & Reynolds, through Jno. B. Reynolds, according to Gregg County records, bought in 1873 the former Thompson & Slater sawmill located on 320 acres about three miles east of Longview on the tracks of the Texas & Pacific. Reynolds gave a deed of trust to W. H. Beaumont to secure the company's indebtedness to W. G. Randall & Brother.
